Foursquare versus Please Rob Me

“Foursquare Responds To Please Rob Me: Please Shut Up”

“The team behind the hot location-based service Foursquare took the time tonight to write a rare longer post about location privacy. Their basic stance: we take privacy very seriously and understand it. Also, that service Please Rob Me should shut up.”

It’s an interesting read and an interesting debate to think about. With Google Buzz already hitting privacy issues…it’s only a matter of time before Foursquare gets in big trouble. It has made me rethink using Foursquare where-ever I go, at the very least.

On the bright side, Foursquare is being proactive about these issues. The sooner and the earlier they are acknowledged, the better.
